I just bought a factory dual horn set up and harness for my truck. Since my coolant recovery tank occupies the stock location for the left horn I relocated the horns to the inside of the frame rails. I think the horns look ugly in the engine bay anyway.

Re: Horn Relocation
I'd be concerned driving in rain that the horns would get a lot of water in them. Naturally, a lot of it will drain back out, but what stays in may cause some damage.
You're probably not going to be driving your truck in the rain, though...

Or move them closer to the front bumper so that it would help shield them.BobbyFord wrote: You could mount the horns facing rearward or downward if you're concerned about rain.

Re: Horn Relocation
your deal is fine. but i just had a second idea. instead of inside the core support what about outside the core support? behind the grill? if there is enough room though.

Re: Horn Relocation
That is where I put mine, between the core support and the grille. Both on the drivers side. I don't have the original horns though, they are from a Dodge.

Re: Horn Relocation
That's a good idea, I just didn't want to drill any new holes. The frame rails already had holes. If I woulda thought about it before I prolly woulda put them on the front side of the core support before the sandblast and paint.fordman wrote:your deal is fine. but i just had a second idea. instead of inside the core support what about outside the core support? behind the grill? if there is enough room though.

Re: Horn Relocation
Looks great where you put them BobbyFord!! Makes for a cleaner engine bay. I might have to copy you.....just like I did on the Mustang tank. My truck will need a sticker that says "Designed by BobbyFord!!"
