Windshield wiper

The wipers quit working on Ole Joe. When I turn the knob, I get a buzzing sound from under the dash. Should I be looking at the switch or the wiper motor itself? I have done no poking around as of yet because I hate tearing into the dash. I'm afraid I'm going to damage the ribbon on the back of the instrument panel.

the wiper motor probably. if its buzzing the switch is sending power to the motor but it isnt turning.

It's an easier repair, I suppose. But it does mean some dismantling. The motor from a '71 would work, right? And could installing a intermittent switch have burned out the motor?

it isnt hard to remove the motor. and all motors from 67-79 will fit our trucks. maybe even 65 and 66. i know the 64 had a different wiring setup and arm.
