Bookmark topics

I have been trying too find out how too save topic's in my user control panel but so far cant might be some thing im missing Went too my Manage Bookmarks and it said too You can bookmark topics for future reference. Select the checkbox for any bookmark you wish to delete, then press the Remove marked bookmarks button. But still cant find out how too.

If you scroll all the way down in the bottom blue bar there is a "bookmark topic" icon that looks like a sheet of paper with a red asterisk.
