ignition
Lost the keys to one of my trucks. Planned on just replacing the toggle and ignition switch. Would appreciate any tips or opinions before I get started. Particularly, if there is a better way than what I plan or any pitfalls that await me. Thanks.

Re: ignition
IIRC, if you can get the left hand door apart, the lock cylinder has the key code on it, and a good locksmith can make keys from that code.
I may be totally wrong, so if anybody else knows differently, PLEASE chime in!!!

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Re: ignition
Thanks. Didn't know that. Is the left hand door you are referring to the driver's door?

Re: ignition
i found one once that the numbers were on the passenger side lock. other trucks i cant remember if they had them on there or not. i'm not sure what you mean about toggle switch. maybe your talking about a kill switch.

Re: ignition
I was referring to the keyed piece that fits inside the ignition switch. Friend of mine owns a parts store and states these parts are sold separately. He used the term "toggle". Another term would probably be the cylinder.

Re: ignition
i see. actually you can buy them without without the key part of the switch. maybe his supplier doesnt sell them to him like that.

You're right Fordman. I meant to say the right side.
