Post by F26TONY »

I had a 1967 f100 that had a crome key hole on the driver side of the hood, it looked factory , I think there was two wires coming off the inside, but had been pulled loose, does anyony know what it was for?

Yes, not factory. Its difficult to know for sure with your discription but it could be for a battery disconnect. Seems unlikely though if it was on the drivers side.

Dont know if this is true or not but someone had told me it was some kind of early alarm system, that would shock you if you touched the truck.

I doubt it, if that was true it would likely shock you putting the metal key in the metal key hole. Seems unlikely.

The keyhole is probably round, like one in the lock on a vending machine. (Correct me if that's wrong. It won't be the first time!!)

If you look closely, you'll probably find some switches in the door jambs and under the hood.

That was a popular alarm system setup "back in the day", but it was usually connected to a siren, not made to shock someone...
Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools talk because they have to say something.--Plato
Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

That's not an oil leak :nono: That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!
