Dash Lights

Post by 68FORDJBM »

My dash lights have been going on and off intermitantly over time. The finally stayed off and no amount of fooling with the switch can trick them back on. I can't stand driving at night wo the dash lights.

Will replacing the light switch solve my problem or is it something else.

i tmight. the light switch controls the dim and bright of the dash lights. so it is possible that resistor coil inthe headlight switch has went bad or the contacts to it. since you say messing with the light switch doesnt make them come back on any more.

You might also check the fuse. My dash lights started acting funny a few months ago and it turned out to be that the fuse wasn't making good contact. It's the short little fuse by the way.

:yt: check the fuse first and its connection to the fuse box, then the switch would be next.
