a/c trouble

i have a 1972 ford pickup with a 302. i had a/c in it but took out whenit did some repair work on the truck. now i am trying to put the a/c back in working condition. my problem according to my a/c friend.is the compressor may have some blowbuy in the compressor. i would like to know if anybody has ever repaired one of these compressors.the compressor is a york. i am looking for a repair kit.i am on tight budget, so any help would be appreciated. thanhs.

i think they just have a piston and ring in them.

Two pistons, rings, valve plate, etc.

I'm not even sure you can buy those parts.

Replacement compressor is the best way to go, unless you can find a good used one.

Not that hard to rebuild one if you have the right tools, (or find a rebuilt one like 70_F100 stated above).

Like the saying goes...they will have to pry my cold-hard hands off of my York compressor! :lol:
They run forever if oiled properly, (unlike it's metric cousin sanyo).

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!
