Well since the interior is all painted in my truck, i figured i should get door panels and a headliner now. I've looked on LMC, and i could of swore people said that their doors panels didn't fit right, so i'm looking for other options. I've checked ebay and haven't had any luck, or maybe i'm searching for the wrong thing . I'm open to even homemade options as long as they'll look good. Any input is helpful.
For the head liner trace out the stocker in 1/8" masonite. If you like the pimp look cover it in Vinyl or go crazy and tuck and roll otherwise paint to suit. Door panels I haven't decided for myself if I just want steel ones or if I want to make custom door panel covers.
when making or using door panels even the old ford original plastic door panel covers would get ate up by the window cranks. that is why i had to trash my plasitc oddr panels when i got the truck. there was a hole worn in the drivers side all the way around the window crank area. so when making a new door panel window crank clearance is a consideration.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

I like the metal ones. You can also get a chrome trim that covers the screw heads for a nicer look. I bought two pairs. One I used to cut the 6x9 speaker holes in and a kept a spare pair in case I ever wanted to go without the speakers.
The reason the window cranks cut the vinyl ones are the window mechanism is worn out allowing the crank to wallow around.

What kind of truck do you have? I have a 71 f250 sports custom with the vinyl door panels and such. I too looked on LMC Truck and realized how expensive they are. If money is not an option then I would buy LMC Trucks. They are like the 73-79s though, plastic. I went down to Checker (O'Reilly) or whatever store and bought just vinyl spray paint that matched my interior of Wimbledon White. I just spray painted them and it looks awesome! It looks like a brand new door panel, visors and everything. In my opinion I think you should just paint them.

Sadly the door panels and headliner were not in the truck when i bought it. It's a 71 Ranger XLT.

i can get a set of the steel door panels if your interested in them.
also my 68 has the chrome tirm. and used to have the plastic cover over the steel door panels. but i took them off and trashed the palstic because the window crank on the dirver side wore a circle in the plastic. but on my chrome trim. i have the screws on the outside of the trim instead of behind the trim like i have seen all the other steel panels had. i dont know if this was a ranger only thing or not.
If the headliner was missing as well, I took my chrome trim for the headliner down and clamped or tape it together for your pattern, Then just traced the outside edge. Good Luck, Tim
