Is there any reason this won't work?

I have the dash panel from a 600 and I want to put the gauges from an older 600 in place of the newer one. As far as I can tell I just need to extend the wings on the top 2 mounting holes and I'm good. Is there anything about the wiring that someone might think will pose a problem? Or is it just trace and connect? The older cluster is pretty sweet because the 4 gauges can all be removed individually from the rear of the cluster.

i dont think you should i did the same thing that you are doing. i have not tried mine out yet due to the fact that my truck is completely dissassembled. but what i did was i swapped gauge for gauge and kept the harness from the original cluster on that cluster

Those guages are really nice and way cool. What did you get them out of exactly?

The gauges came out of a '67 cab over 600 and yesterday I saw the same gauges in a old 500. If I swap individual gauges I won't be able to use the older face plate because it has a scaloped bottom.

I really like those guages. If I can find some I will put them in my 67. I was planning on using more modern white face guages, but those look way more cool.

Depends on the condition. I would like gauges as nice as yours. But if you can get your hands on some, I would. There is just not that many large old Fords around my area.

As far as I could tell they are in very good condition but that was looking at them thru the driver side window, the doors won't open so I'll have to break the glass to get in. I know what you mean about finding older vehicles, I live in Western NY and the weather here is brutal on vehicles, between the rain and HIGH humidity in the summer and the frickin snow in the winter it's none stop moisture. The yard I go to is 45 mi from my house and in the middle of no-where, then it's about a 30 min climb to get back in the woods where the real treasures are, luckily the old stuff is so far back that I don't think they'll ever see the inside of a crusher. Anyways the yard is charging $35 for the panels so I'd have to get a least $50. Let me know, oh you know what, I could sell you the one I got and the next time I get out there I could grab the other one for myself.
