I did a similar conversion on my 68. I bent up a bracket out of 1/4" wall plate that's a little less square than channel iron, but works the same. The 2WD box is meant to mount on the inside of the frame, but the 4x4 box is opposite (outside the frame) so you have to fab up an odd bracket that places the pitman arm correctly. Mine has steered 35" BFG All Terrain T/A's for years with no trouble. I'm sure yours is not factory, but I guess it's possible it could be dealer installed?

Everything has been shot with two coats of Eastwood's 2X ceramic chassis black. Hopefully, I'll have time later this week to assemble the frame, and get it back to a rolling chassis, except for the brakes, which I will do closer to final assembly.

Just a quick note. Got burnt by LMC. One of my upper coil spring mount brackets had the bolt broken off in it. I thought I'd just get a new one from LMC. But, the one they have isn't shaped right, so the spring was very, very loose. I brought the old bracket into work, and had our machinist drill out the bolt (they had to chisel out the rest, it was stuck in there THAT bad!) from the nut that is welded to the bracket, and tap it back out. Good as new. Staying away from LMC at all cost!

Thanks! Decided to go with the gloss on the frame, instead of satin. It's not a total restoration, so thought I'd jazz it up a bit!

Here are the upper coil spring brackets. The one on the left is from LMC, the one on the right is the stock one. Notice the larger dip in the LMC bracket, that is why the spring is loose in that one.

I was able to get most of the front suspension on. Still have to pick up an adjustable track bar, and drop bracket for it, install the axles (forgot to pick up the new axle seals!), install the spindles and drag link. Oh, and get shocks also.

One last screwing from LMC. Along with that spring bracket, I ordered bushings for my rear leaf springs. They are about a 1/4" too long, won't fit into the pivot or frame. So, had to bring them to work, and have the machinists trim them down for me. I'm done with LMC.

Worked all day, and finished the suspension. it's back to a rolling chassis! Here are pics of the rear, with the 2" lift blocks. Wont' install brakes until final assembly.

Here is the front end. Springs are for a 2" lift. Still need an adjustable track bar, shocks, new brake drums, and lockouts.

Time for an update, got my cab corners (Dennis Carpenter) and front cab mounts (NPD-DC too pricey!), and should be bringing the cab home in a few weeks to start on it. I'm going to build a wooden frame on casters, so I can move it around the garage, and have it high enought to work. on. Planning on pulling the dash and cowl, so I can clean that out, and seal it up. Possibility, I may try to fit a 78-79 dash into this truck.

Also found a motor and tranny. I'm going to be getting an 89 F-250, with the 351W, and the ZF 5 speed. Got a smokin deal for the whole truck, so I can take off what I need to adapt it to the 67, and then scrap the rest.
