wheel hub rebuild? seals?

I've pulled both my hub's off while I wait for a new one (to me) to arrive. I've figured out how everything is supposed to go in, got all of the parts needed and went to work. No real problems until I tried to put the wheel oil seal in. It kick my tail. I damaged it, and before buying another I'd like to know if I bought the right one to begin with. Dana 44 front end from a 69 f-100 4x4. the part # I bought is 4250 from FEDERAL MOGUL. Any suggestions??

How did you damage it? When pressing it in use a 2x4, lay it flat on the seal and smack the 2x4 with a hammer. Check it each time to make sure it is lining up correctly. I don't know the seal number.

My Ford Master catalog shows a vin split for 1969 F100 dana 44's
Before F50,001 (built 7/69 or before)
after F50,001 (built Aug/69 or newer)
The before shows part # B9TZ.1190.A 2 1/2 I.D.-3 1/4 O.D.
The after shows me part# C9TZ.1175.A 2 1/2 I.D. - 3 5/8 O.D.

You can look them up and they show 1 rst design #442380
and 2 nd design # 4250

Maybe you got the 2 nd design seals and needed the 1 rst ? or vice-versa
