Gauge issue

Post by towtruckerfour »

Hey guys. I was going through the electrical on my 68 F250 to try and find where the oil and temp gauge wires went last night and if I traced it right on the diagram, they were connected to the coil for some reason. I'm not sure why the po did this but I tried connecting the temp gauge to the sensor and got nothing. My gas gauge was working I think and now isn't. Could being wired to the coil damage the ipvr? I'm going to mess with it some more on my lunch hour today. Thanks
Troy

You can check here for a diagram that will help you sort out what wires go where...

The truck did run with all three wires hooked to the coil which makes sense since the one wire is supposed to go there. That is the diagram I used to figure out which wire was which and was very helpful.
