Blinker/breaklight/hazzard problems

Post by FirstOnRaceDay »

Ok guy I need some help on this one. Recenly bought an 1972 F-250 that some one played mad electrition on. After replacing the wiring Harness(from 71 F-250) and repairing the damage done to rear chasis wiring I am still having some problems. The turn signals and the breaklights still dont work. The hazzards work on the front end but not the rear. All the running lights and head lights work fine(even the side markers work). The fuel gage and dome lights dont work either and the e-break light stays on. I would like to thank fordification for the wiring diagrams(first ting i did was down load it and took it to kinko's and print it enlarged to about 2'x4') it has been a great asset. I get the feeling that I am missing something simple and any input will be welcome.

replace the headlight switch. check the ground on your tail light housings. and adjust your brakes to recenter the brake light on the dash above the key. the fuel gauge can be checked from this page. http://www.fordification.com/tech/fuel- ... -units.htm

you recenter the brake valve by bleeding the brakes to equal out the fluid in the two brake systems front and rear. power for the stop light switch comes from the fuse box via the hazard switch. http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... _quick.jpg

Ok I'll do the breaks tommarow. Good call on the headlight switch the one I got from the junkyard must of been bad too. With the new headlight switch break lights started working( $35.00). Forgot that their is two built in fuses. I would like to take the time to thank you for your time and effort in helping me as well as others(got some good info from other posts). Will keep you posted. THANK YOU FORDMAN.
