After-market A/C advice

Post by Laskey »

Hello everyone,
I tore the heating unit out of my 1971 F350 crew cab. I intend to install an aftermarket system that covers a/c, heat, and defrost. Looking at a system from Vintage Air or the "Perfect fit" from Classic Air Auto. Leaning toward the Classic Air Auto system, it utilizes the existing stock control panel, and looks streamlined inside. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

1971Ford,
Do you have this unit? If so do you think it will have no problem cooling down a crew cab?

Nope I do not but plan on getting it next summer (year and a half from now).
But judging from the equipment it comes with I'd say it will cool it down just as easily as a modern truck would.

I bought a old air products ip-6772 from a member here, it was bought from lmc. I don't have it installed and it won't be in until the new cab goes on next summer. I went with this one so I could keep the 67 heater controls. It looks good and I hope it works good also.

I was going to buy the nostalgic air one until I found the member here that gave me a deal I couldn't pass up.

I have used Vintage and I liked the results. Novas like their Camaro brethern have the worst heaters ever, and Vintage took care of that big time. I could drive with my windows down all winter and still sweat it out.

I hear good things about southern air, but I have not used them myself.
