defroster hose connection
Hi all, my 68 was stripped by po on the inside, I need to know if there are brackets under the dash for the defroster hoses to connect to...or do these come attached to the hoses ??? I see the holes up there but no connector of any kind.
thanks

Re: defroster hose connection
The heater core mounts in a box. The box mounts to the firewall from inside the cab. The heater core tubes stick out through the two holes in the firewall. The heater hoses connect inside the engine compartment to these tubes.

Re: defroster hose connection
i think you are referring to the duct hose that goes from the heater box up to the defrost vents on top of the dash.the hose goes right up through the top of the dash.they one end will have a round rubber on it that is the end that goes up to the vents.the other end fastens to the heater box.it might be kind of hard to push the ends thru but they rest in the holes under the dashpad.hope this helps.

thats right they stick up in the bottom of the dash. you kind of squeeze the rubber to make the lip go up in the hole. and that is what holds it into the dash.
