chrome trim
I just got the final glove box trim part I needed for my truck, the chrome one that starts at the instrument bezel and goes around the glove box and back. They have the little clips with them and they look like I just need to drill a hole in the dash to push the clips into. Does anyone know what size the hole is? I am thinking 1/4 inch drill bit but I am not sure. If anyone has a picture of the dash with trim out so I know where the holes were drilled from the factory that would be good also. My truck doesn't have it but it will when I am done. Thanks

Re: chrome trim
Measure the clip at the skinnest point and add a few thousands in drill bit size. If it was me and since I'm sure you don't want to mess up your dash, take a piece of scrap metal and test fit the trim with metal clip in the hole you intend to drill. The clip should hold the trim tightly

Re: chrome trim
1/4 is probably too big. doing as above is probably the best bet. i dont know the measurements. 3/16 is probably closer than 1/4. just judging by the clips. i have never seen the holes only the trim clips.

Re: chrome trim
I just installed the same trim today in my 72 Sport Custom. I didn't have all the clips but I drilled 3/16" holes and also used some putty in the grooves and applied a tiny bit of epoxy onto the putty and then snapped it into place. The 3/16" hole like Fordman suggested worked perfect and it snapped right in and it is tight. I randomly drilled the holds for the clips. I marked the holes first with a marker and then tapped it with a punch to get the drill bit started. I didn't want it to "run away" and scratch up my dash. I then used a smaller bit and then worked up to the 3/16". Make sure you drill the holes right because once the clips snap in, they don't come out. I should have put the trim as close to the dash pad as possible ad I am about 1/4" below it and it would have been better right up against the dash but I didn't really have any pics to go from. I'm happy with the outcome.

Re: chrome trim
I thought I have seen most of the options on these trucks but I don't remember ever seeing this trim I am ashamed to say.
I would like to have some of that.

You did a good job and thank you for the info. I stumbled onto it and I had to get 2 sets. I needed 2 because mine is a 67 with the push controls for the heater so I needed to get 2 to make up for the space for the heater contol.

Re: chrome trim
If they are impossible to get out how did you get one out to put in your truck begin with?
