Firewall cover

Post by Fo-Mo-Co »

So I scored an almost perfect firewall cover at the yard Saturday. The clips were destroyed removing it. What is everyone using to mount them?

Yes think I found them in NPD just wasn't looking in the rite place. They are a PITA to remove. I figured it was better to ruin the clips and not the cover. Though for being 40+ years old they are tougher than I thought.

how did you go about removing them? i have used a hammer in the past and got a few of them most of the way out before they crushed in on themselves.

Get a pair of side cuts under the chrome cap and it will pop off. then trim off the tabs and it will slide past them with ease.
