I added three-point seat belts in my truck last year. I love my stock seat bench but headrests would make it much safer, especially with the three-point belts. I don´t want to get a late model bench in my truck so I´m thinking about adding head rests to the stock bench. Anyone done this before?

Re: Stock seat bench with headrests?
Ford did it to the car seats in the late '60's, usually as a high end option. I think the hardest part will be sourcing the slide in section of the seat along with the headrests. The slide in just welds to the seatback frame. I have a couple from the '68-'68 Torinos but they are in good bucket seats. I used to have a 4dr '69 torino bench with the headrests. I could probably find one in a junkyard if you are interested in that period type. The headrests are pretty tough but the cars are getting scarce.

I used a 95 f150 seat that I upholstered with a 1970 seat cover. You realy can`t tell that it is newer. I think that would be easiest but you could always get a newer seat and cut the head rest area out of the frame, then weld it into the old frame and uphoslter the head rest to match.

yeah i dont think you could easily add them to a stock truck seat. the frame just isnt made to use them. i think car seats would do it for you.

Thanks for your replies everyone!
Ford truck seat benches are kinda hard to get by over here. I´m thinking about full racing seats now. Would be best for safety I guess. We´ll see.
