my 68 column, auto , might be missing something. i am installing it now,, the turn signal switch / harnes was replaced, out of the center of the column pointing toward driver is a small shaft comeing up , should there be something coming out of the shaft ?? thankyou :fr: :hmm: mike

Not sure what you're referring to. Can you pick out from this schematic? http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... column.jpg If you're referring to Part 7B097 in the bottom right corner, that's the neutral safety switch lever, I believe.

If you're talking about the plastic column arising from the t/s switch, there should a spring loaded brass bullet that slips in there and provides contact for the horn circuit. There should also be one on the top side of the steering wheel. They don't show them on the pic.
