Plain Speedometer

Post by Scoot43 »

I recently bought a 1968 F100 Ranger. Originally the Truck had a 3 spd transmission with a 240 6 cylinder.
The speedometer does not look like the ones in the LMC or Mac's catalogs nor like the ones in the galleries.
It does not say F O R D across the face.
it is Fordless.
Is this the right speedo/Instrument panel?
Does anyone else have this type of speedo?
Is this because it is a base model?
Thanks

base models got no ford in the center. you have a good steel one. it can easily be repainted better than a plastic one can be. or even chromed. http://www.fordification.com/tech/67-72ID_01.htm

i actually like the steel one better. i had one and got rid of it for some stupid reason. i now have a line on a great plater and would love to have another to get chromed.
