New seats belts for truck
Just wondering if any of you's have used after market 3point seatbelts, from LMC part # 48-2346-bl. If you have do you like them or have any other suggestions. Thanks.

I got mine from seatbeltpros.com. Several threads on this topic if you search the site for "3 point" or "seatbelt." It sure helped me.

Thanks guys.Just looking at seat belts, have the orig. belts wrong colour and buckles are a little ruff.Looked at snakeoyl web sight. Looks like they do very nice restoration work on belts, very pricey though. I would like my new belts to look some what like stock belts.I think 3 point belts are a good idea if I put belts back in.Steering columns in these old trucks aren't very forgiving on your chest,if your ever in a wreck.

Good morning Mark,
I know exactly what you mean. It seems like three-point belts are a great idea for any truck you plan on driving much!
The chrome latch option on the BEAMS belts seems to fit in with our truck's style, I think. Yet of course the plastic latch option won't become 1,500 degrees when the truck's left parked in the sun!!!

The BEAMS kit from seatbeltpros comes with options for the buckle, but like RobRoy I chose the chrome old-style latch (like those on airplanes). Later I got an original 67 owners manual and, sure enough, this was the original style latch.
For the bolts, I had to search for a while to get the right type for the shoulder mount. Finally found a grade 8 "shoulder bolt" at a local industrial supply house, adn that is what you want. The "shoulder" is key to give your belt hardware plate the room to swivel without pulling or twisting the bolt out of place. The vanity cap that came with the BEAMS kit snapped right over the bolt.
My truck had the original shoulder bolts on the floor, but they were too big for the anchor plate holes in the kit.
My interior is "medium beige," and seatbeltpros had a very good match. I would guess that in 1967 the only choice in a Custom Cab would have been black.
Except for the hassle of manually feeding out the shoulder belt when I buckle up, I am very satisfied with my set-up.
