Souped up A/C??
Doing a restoration on my 69 f250 camper special. I am going to completely redo the a/c system. I live in Texas and want to install a system that will rival a walk in freezer! Any thoughts on what my posible options are? Thanks in advance,
Tim

A couple of names that come to mind are:
Old Air Products:

Vintage Air:
http://www.vintageair.com/
There are others, but these two come to mind right now.
This is the one that'll be going in the '69:

It's just the inside unit. If you need a complete system, there's this one:
http://www.oldairproducts.com/catalog/1 ... -4362.html
Vintage Air doesn't make a model specific unit for our trucks, but the universal systems are still quite good.
Good luck!

Re: Souped up A/C??
There is also Classic Air who makes a system just for our trucks. I dont have one but I know someone who has it loves the system. Works with your stock heater controls too...

Re: Souped up A/C??
As key with any good a/c system. make sure all the componets are free of damage and system free of leaks. It sounds like you have the system but want to upgrade? depending on what you have you may be able to run a larger condenser. using a fa shroud helps. even closing the gap between the condenser and the radiator if there is one would help promote good airflow. Are you going to be using r12 or r134a?

Re: Souped up A/C??
I am staying real cool just reading all this AC stuff. Good info. I would go with 134A due to the cost factor. To bad we didn't stick with the R12 I believe it cools better/colder.
May your sails stay full, and your knots not slip. Unless a slip knot.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Re: Souped up A/C??
My thread is good, but my AC is far from souped up yet. I will try and get some pics of my condenser up. I have been busy at work so give me a day or two.
