Swapping Bench Seats...Updated with pix
Got a wild hair last week and went yard surfing, looking for a bench up to 96 to put in my 69 F250. Found some junk and finally a decent bench out of a 94...all were priced at $150...think there is a conspiracy among yards here on pricing. Brought that bench home and followed the instructions at this link:
http://www.meadowbranch.com/Seat.htm to install it. I was able to pull my old bench by just unbolting the seat itself from the slider brackets...four nuts.
Then I pulled the new bench slider bracket off that seat, drilled the frame holes out with an 11/32nds bit and dropped the newer seat in my truck. Big time savings not having to unbolt the slider bracket in my cab...old nuts/bolts don't agree with me most times. The only hitch was it was little tight up under the new seat...getting a socket on the four nuts to tighten it down...less room under the newer seat. But it worked out okay. Now I need to transfer the seat cover to the newer seat and park the old bench in the shop...my choc lab already has dibs on it. So, for those considering a swap it's not that hard to do...took me about 2 hours tops, including cleaning/shampooing the carpet in the cab and cleaning the newer seat before I dropped it in. Sits much nicer down the road now.

Re: Swapping Bench Seats
i have a ratcheting end wrech for the seat bracket bolts. it clears everything and works good on the front four bolts. the rear bolts i just use a ratchet and a few extensions.

Re: Swapping Bench Seats
I was (happily) asking for pics of what you did in YOUR truck. I wasnt trying to be an @ss and at the time, there was no link that I could see. Now that the link is fixed, are those pics of your truck or a link you used to do your truck? If that is just a link you followed, we would still all love to see what the final result of your work was in your own truck. Many of us are interested in seeing the different looks of the different seats people put in their trucks to help us get our own ideas.
Wasnt trying to say your info was worthless... Its just a built in emote icon that everyone here uses to ask for pics. Sorry you took it out of context...

Re: Swapping Bench Seats
The link and pix are the best ones I found online on this subject. When I'm into a project, I simply don't stop to snap pix...and really can't get good pix up under a pickup seat, no? The Tech section of this site has a full page of bench seat swaps using newer ford and other seats...no need to recreate the wheel. If I get a chance to put the saddle-blanket seat cover on tomorrow, I'll try to snap and post some before and after pix. Yeah, I did take it out of context and then had to fix the link that didn't paste in as a link...egg on my face. Gotta run, I hear thunder outside...haven't seen rain since last October.

Re: Swapping Bench Seats
I was not as clear as I could have been either. Wasnt asking for "how to" pics as like you said, no need to reinvent the wheel and there are plenty of places to see those. I just want to see the final product of what you did. What the seats look like in your truck. Thats all I was asking for..
No biggie, just always curious to see what a final product looks like when someone talks about the success of a modification.

Re: Swapping Bench Seats
As noted, I may be able to get pix today...but I gotta tell ya, that generic emoticon that everyone uses is pointedly offensive...especially on a public forum, and especially if that's the only info you post. Would be better if it said "Can You Add Some Pix?" Maybe the mod will see this suggestion and change it.

As promised, two pix of my 69 F250 with a 94 blue cloth bench seat installed, along with SB seat cover and Bombay taxi cushion.

Re: Swapping Bench Seats
good work
, but can I ask a question? Why another bench? Is it more comfortable ?

Re: Swapping Bench Seats
Well, for us BOB's (big ole boys) it is...cab is just too small for me with buckets or bench, but the bench lets me stretch out sideways and offers more support on long drives. Toyed with minivan seat idea for a bit, but decided I didn't want to fab brackets...too hot lately for that.
