Info on decoding the circles on the Left column

Hi, is there a page that I can access the meaning of all the circles in the left hand column?
red circle, blue circle, circle with lines moving & all the other different posts ? E,G. some are colored, some are clear & i'm sure that I missed some, but I think that you know what I mean.

A star means it's a thread that you have posted in. The lines moving means that it is a popular or active thread, I think it has to be three pages long.
