Factory Console

Post by Steve75 »

I want to install bucket seats in my 1968 F-100. However, that is going to leave a bit of an empty spot in the cab. I figure on installing a center console. Have any of you installed a factory console out of a Mustang or other Ford car? If so can you post pictures?

Those would be way to low to be useable. I'd suggest getting one from a '78-'79 Bronco or an '80s F-series. Here's a shot of the interior of my '75 with '87 Ranger XLT buckets and console. The Bronco uses the same console.

You'll just have to come up with a way of mounting it to the floorpan, since the bottom of the console isn't flat:

You can also use the center console from a full-size '80s Ramcharger. They look a lot like the Ford piece. Here's a listing for one on E-bay right now, for the visual:

(Don't suppose you have a blue interior, do you? I have one of these consoles in blue that I was gonna E-bay.) ;)

i've got a console from a mid 70's gmc jimmy in my truck, the bottom is alot flatter than the 80's ford one i tried out before which will make bolting it down eventually alot easier

it was originally blue and whoever owned the jimmy i got it out of hit it with a black spraybomb (the black is peeling off and is on the 'to-do' list as well)
