cab marker lights

Post by 1971ford »

Where would i get some good carb marker lights? Original looking would be a big plus. Just don't want a set where the chrome will flake off after a year...

Ryan, this is the best I can do for you if wanting to stay with incandecent lights. Not alot of choices left. Everything is going LED.

You will have to find a vendor. Most truck stops still carry PM stuff. Tractor supply does too. (If you have those in CA?)

It was Grote. Looks like they are still around as marketing outfit. The lights they are selling have PM, Truck-lite & KM parts numbers. . .

I swear you an I have te same tastes Ryan... what type of layout are you drilling in your roof for lights? That's my only thing, I've seen a ton of different ways to do it

Yeah I think we do

I will be drilling this layout

This is the only other layout i've seen on a bump. I don't think it's an original layout.

My in-laws 72 F350 has factory chicken lights. They are spaced evenly, like those in your first pic

Here is a pic of mine. I spotted some marker lights hanging on the wall in a local parts place that are just like them and mine could stand to be replaced after 43 years

three close together in the center means the vehicle is more than 108 inches wide. the two on the sides are jsut side marker roof lights. being evenly spaced they are just roof / clearance lights.

Hey Ryan, did you ever order these and get them installed?

My truck had KD517's on it (not original) when I bought it in '92. I liked the chrome, so I bought the set from LMC and they are huge, just too tall. So I'm thinking either lower profile cab lights (like the ones you're looking at) or nothing at all.

Thanks!

Nope had to put the little project further down the list after a few problems after a wheeling trip but still plan to order those marker lights linked above and get them on sometime

So whats the deal with the roof marker lights? Did ford have a standard pattern for their placement, or did dealerships come into play?
