Help putting a seat from a 79 into my 69

Post by 69Dwayne »

Today I found a decent bench seat in a 79 ford truck. I didn't have my tools or a tape measure. Will it fit in my 69? If so how much trouble is it to put in. I hurt my back a few weeks ago and don't want to get into big problems.

i think they bolt right in but don't quote me for sure i haven't looked at both my seats brackets yet. i know the 78 has two bolts in front on each side. i think the back only has one on each side. i cant remember what my 68 has for bolts.

Thanks for the replies. Are you saying the orginal brackets should be left bolted to the floor and the 79 seat just slides onto those brackets?

The two eras use the same floorpans, so the brackets should be identical...should be a straight bolt-up. However, to install seats from '80-up into our truck you just bolt our mounting brackets onto the newer seat.
