Re: glass yellowed
I tried plastic polish, headlight restorer, tooth paste, compound, and everything else people say will take yellowing off. I saw a very small improvement but not enough for all the time I wasted. Spend $24.00 at one of the parts venders or on ebay and just get a new one. Thats what I finally done.

Re: glass yellowed
I looked and couldnt find them for the 1970. It is a MUST to have this replaced as we cannot see the dash cluster at all it is so yellowed.
Also, I need the arm rests that go on the doors, but couldnt find them either. I need them in black or dark red.
Thanks,
JP

Re: glass yellowed
I've used the 3M headlight restore kits to take the yellow and scratches out of plastics before. You basically use fine grit sandpaper to remove the oxidation layer from the plastic/lexan and then use the plastic filler/polish to fill in the scratches you made and make it "shine". It works fairly well (restores to >75% new), but the kits are $18-25, which is the same as buying a new lens.... If you had an old restore kit lying around (left overs from restoring modern headlights), a little elbow-grease and time would save you from buying a new one, at least for now...

Re: glass yellowed
As previously posted, DC has the lens, P/N C7TZ-10880-B, cost $25. There's also an ebay seller named littleking who has (probably) the exact same part, and you may be able to save a little shipping (DC's shipping and handling charges are a little high...).d4klutz wrote:I looked and couldnt find them for the 1970. For the arm rests, the repops I've seen are JUNK!! Try ebay for some NOS ones (that's where I found mine) or good used ones. IIRC, they are the same in some later model Econoline vans.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Re: glass yellowed
The lens (and the part number for it) is the same for all '67-'72 F100-F350trucks, except the F350 cowl and cowl/windshield body styles, since they had a completely different instrument panel.

Re: glass yellowed
I agree completely about the re popped arm rests. Find some good old ones. Look in the mid 70's vans also as that is where I got my last one. I got one from D.C. and with in a couple of months it was cracked and about to fall off.
