Leather steering wheel wrap

Post by BudsTruck »

I've searched the forum and can't seem to find much info on leather steering wheel wraps for our trucks. I have a '68 F100 Ranger and my grandfather at some point spray painted the steering wheel. It looks good, but when I get in if I'm not careful I get a lovely red stripe on my pants where my right leg rubs against it. I like the look and feel of the leather wrapped wheels so I've decided to go that route. I've been looking at wheelskins.com and it looks like I can measure and special order one, but wondered if y'all had any other makers you can recommend. My truck is Rangoon Red but has the burgundy interior so I'll go with a burgundy wrap as well. Thanks in advance.

For real leather I think your only option is a custom one. I don't know of any premade. There are the vinyl ones, but as you know they are of relatively low quality and fall under the "accessory" items.

Thanks. I was thinking that might be the only option. I'll have to check further on the wheelskins.com custom ordered one. They do have a burgundy that would match the interior well. Hopefully it won't be too expensive to be worth the trouble.

WheelSkins will look like a factory option, I predict. I have used them in two previous vehicles, and some day will on my 67 bump.

Let us know how much the special order costs and what specs you gave them.

Good luck!
