Chroming...

Post by sublimer »

Do any of you know of a place where I can send in a piece and have them chrome it? Or a way to do it myself?

I have the no-bells-and-whistles 240 68 F-100, but somethings I would like to get chromed to add a little pop, like the seat hinges. :D

you might be able to find the chrome covers that go over the hinges. I know i seen them but can't remember where. Try one of the vendors such as Dennis Carpenter,National Parts Depot, LMC or others. I know i seen them!!

I know throughout the years of owning Harleys...I've had smaller peices bead blasted and buffed back out to a mirror finish..just an option to chrome. Or look in your yellow pages or classified for chromer's..... http://www.yellowpages.com/blacksburg-va/chroming#
I've had enough and I'm not alone

There aslo is a plasma coating that is not quite as shiny as chrome but has the look. There were several Nascar teams that used them on thier wheels the last couple of years. Don't know what is looks like up close though.
