What year did the trucks switch from an accellerator hard linkage to a cable linkage, and what, if any, years swap into our Bumps?
TIA!

Re: Accelerator cable
So I was walking around the JY yesterday and it appears there are 2 styles used on the dents... both from square headlight dents... (78/9?)
One is 302 and one style is 351/400.
The 302 style looks a lot more sanitary, so I will go back and pick that one up then the ground freezes... the current swamp conditions make the endeavor unpleasant...

Re: Accelerator cable
I don't know the years they changed but I did away with my stock setup on my 71 years ago. The trapeze set up actually has its purpose though. I know that when I stand on my gas peddle I can feel the engine torque through it.
Mine is just a rod from the arm of the peddle to the carb arm with a ball and socket from a later model truck.
Works great but there is a different feel through the gas peddle and the ratio is a lot different.

Re: Accelerator cable
Im using a 79 F250 w/400m pedal and cable on my 68 with a 5.0 and 4v holley. Pedal is a little high for my liking(due to the short cable) so I might swap it out for some kind stock trapeze set up.
