Re: Power Antenna
I am putting a power antenna from a 1998 lincoln cont on mine but it is going where the fuel fill is in the cab. I don't know if you could put a power antenna on in the stock location I didn't even look at that. The one I have just has a round hole not a square plate.

Re: Power Antenna
So I did the basic installation today. Everything went smoothly and I look forward to the final install and use.

It fits in the passengers side cowl utilizing the original surface mount hole. You could relocate to the drivers side if you wanted to.
Here is a pic of the opening with the antenna hanging from the upper mount. Note the 5/8" hole in the upper corner - this is where the wiring harness feeds thru a sealed grommet. That location was chosen as it is right below the lip for the cowl, so there won't be any water draining directly over it.
There are 2 screws, along with some plumbers tape that secure the bottom of the antenna. You can see the small pilot holes I have drilled, but since the other side is masked off for painting I will enlarge them later. The kit comes with a sheet metal screw and I dislike using them, so I will do a final mount with machine screws.

The bottom mount is bent to clear the access hole grommet (the blue area in the above pic), and the hole is enlarged as the holes in the supplied strap do not line up with the holes on the bottom of the antenna.

Finally, one must clearance the passengers side vent insert to clear the bottom of the antenna.

All-in-all, the kit from the vendor I purchased it from is complete and quite good. If I were doing this project again, or was asked I would recommend the kit.
Good luck to any who choose to do this. I hope this information helps.
