hi i have a 1970 250 and i was wondering how i could check to know if it had seat belts from the factory. i was told by the guy i bought it from it didnt have them in it when he bought it, but i also know that not all trucks came with seat belts in that time i just dont know what the last year is when you could get a truck without them. and if it could have came without them how can i check?

Re: seat belts
Move the seat forward, there should be holes for the seatbelt bolts, nearest the in-cab gas tank. I've seen plastic or rubber plugs in those holes, if they look unmolested it may have never had belts.

Re: seat belts
AFAIK the NTSB in the US had already made it law for mandatory seat belts by then-but not 100% sure on that. I thought all our trucks had them by 1970 from the factory.

Re: seat belts
Lap belts were required as stock equipment, even back then. Don't think you could order a vehicle without them in 1970.

Re: seat belts
As I recall.....1970 was the year they became mandatory. My 69 would have been exempt but does have them.
