Picked up a fairly decent set of door panel trim. The only thing some of the black between the stainless has flaked off.
Has anyone tried to paint back the black? How?
Also has anyone tried to polish the stainless? I have a mother's power cone thats what I was thinking of doing, but always open to new ideas.
thanks, Cole

Re: Reparing door panel trim?
I primed my trims and they are ready for paint now just haven't painted them yet. I used a etching primer and it seems hard to scape the paint off, maybe over time it will come off but I can just repaint at that time. I scuffed it up with 80 grit sand paper all over and primed. You could always strip the factory paint off then you would have just a chrome trim. I wanted mine my accent color that's why I did mine. I primed the chrome trim from the dash and it will be painted my accent color also. I plan to have very little chrome inside or outside of my truck when complete.

Re: Reparing door panel trim?
thanks for the info. I'm still not sure what color black goes back? Looks like a satin or low gloss black...
