hydraulic clutch set up from an f-150

Anybody have pictures of a hydraulic clutch set up from one of the newer fords adapted to a bumpside? wonder if the pedal assembly will work from the newer truck? I read the tech article on here but didnt go into much depth and had no pics.

I have a crown vic front cross member installed and i'm going with a mod motor either a used 4.6 3 valve or a new 5.0 . For transmission I'll be running either a 3650 from a 2004 or older mustang for ease of shifter hookup, or if i can figure out how to move the shifter forward maybe a newer six speed. I hope to use the hydraulic throwout bearing from the 2005 and up mustang. Just looking for an easier way to hook up the clutch pedal to the clutch master cylinder than having to fab a bracket off the existing clutch pedal like they did on the bumpside build off.

Been here quite a few years, (no there aint' moss under my feet) :lol: and don't think I've ever seen a bump with a wet clutch set up yet. The pedal assembly would be the easy part-the hard part would be the engineering and adapting the slave to the bell. Newer bellhousing-then adapting the pedal would be doable. :2cents:

I think most people wanting to fab in a juice clutch are most likely going for a O/D manual swap so it would be beneficial to read/see a more in depth description of the clutch conversion. I am getting 14 city now so even if it simply meant 15mpg city with a nicer shifting transmission it would be well worth the swap.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use the clutch assembly from a newer truck it looks like it would be a pretty easy fit, if your gonna put the master cylinder to the right side of the brakes you can always spend the extra $ and go this route http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CMB-14-0016/ . However if you plan on running power brakes at some point you may want to put the booster inplace so you can fab around it. I have never seen one of the newer assemblies mounted in a bump so I can't promise it would fit but I would imagine it would work like the original clutch only pushing forward as opposed to pulling up.

Thanks now i just have to go looking in the junk yards see what i can find. I have another explorer i can take a hyd clutch out of. When i did my 48 truck I cut the firewall reinforcement out of the explorer and welded it into the 48 firewall. then i could use the hanger pedals out of the ex instead of the pusher ones that go through the floor. I hope I can find an f-150 or 250 with the set up if not then I'll try adapting the explorer clutch and brake set up. Anybody know what was the first year for the hyd clutch in the f model?

I think its 86 or 87 not sure. Shouldn't be hard to find if you have any wrecking yards near you.

I looked at our plow truck an f-250 think its an 88 or 9 too many fords cant keep track lol. I dont think the pedal box will work like i hoped steering column does not go between the pedals like in a bump. its offset to the left. so looks like a custom one off thanks for help.

I was thinking more along the lines of just removing the Clutch pedal itself and putting it into the bumps pedal box.

Ya I am thinking one of those aftermarket assemblies is gonna be my best bet, I am not to great at fabricating things and there is more then enough room on the firewall.

Ya those after market pedal/cylinder assemblies are pretty straight forward, just make sure you bolt it far enough over to clear any brake components.

Thanks the lower one with the rust would work i think what's nice is it has the mount for the clutch master cyl. I have some time before i need to get the clutch hooked up. Just got the rear mocked up today.
