Steering Column Trivia

Post by 71PA_Highboy »

What was the last year without an 'Emergency Blinker' switch in the column?

I thought it was 73, but I don't know.

TIA,

Eric

Eric,
Here's a 73' truck column that show's the switch in the column:

I would have to guess the 72 was the last year with the switch in the dash.

OK,
A friend has a column he was told was from a 79, (in a 66) but it has no flasher switch. That is where my confusion comes from...

Thanks!

I have a 79 tilt column without a hazard switch on it, of course it had one when I got it but doesn't any more. I like the one mounted in the glove box and I wanted to keep some of the old school stuff and mix in some new stuff also.

78/79 steering columns look totally different, as they are much larger in diameter where the turn signal switch is.
