Basket, the most concern that you should follow was also indicated by TJM in the above post..If you T into your output line as I indicated, you will see your max temp. This is your major concern as fluid vaporization will kill your trans...some organic fluids start to vaporize at 220F to 240F.
Synthetic fluids will remain thinner when cold & will tolerate heat much better.........in general synthetics vaporize about 100 degrees hotter than mineral oels.........But that is another thread.. If you are pulling heavy loads or plowing snow, your concern is valid , other wise not to worry.
You just need to know your max fluid temp....if you install 2 sensors: 1 in the trans output line going to the cooler & one in the pan you will see what I mean...as I said you can use 1 gauge, a double throw switch for 2 sensors , if you want to see the diff...
If you want to see a LARGE diff, put 1 in the line to the cooler & one in the case pressure test port...It will all become clear.
If you have a Ray Tec thermometer with a laser you can qualify this data easily....paint your test areas black, as this will give you the most accurate reading..............HTH>>>>>>>>>>>>>Donnie
