1970 seat cover

Thinking about a seat cover for my 1970 f-100 I think it is an xlt model ( I believe). How can I tell which seat seat cover I need. Two different styles in catolog which one is correct. Thanks.

No I don't have the orginal was gone when I got the truck. I have seen some nice bench seats in the junk yard lately was thinking about picking one up and try to get a nice seat cover if possible. I have the teak trim on instrument cluster and on the doors so I'm guessing it's an xlt. Had to fix some wiring issues a little bit ago and the 70's wiring diagram is different from my truck. Also looked in the tech section and a 70's model shown does not have rear light alum trim, mine does. Kind of like the seat cover with the button but not sure what would be orginal looking.

Found one in the tech section that looks like my truck guess I need the one with out the buttons.

The one you like with the buttons is the seat for a ranger.... So you might be okay

Have not looked at the vin yet, might go ahead and do it tonight. Found a couple other things that where a little different on mine and the pic. Good idea, thanks.

Having already gone thru the search you are on - just a caution - - - you need to read the fine print about the seat covers with "the buttons" - - - - "the buttons" don't come with the seats and I had zero luck finding any repops.

I wound up having the interior made (not stock) as I wanted a little different look than original. But, to answer your question, the buttons were long narrow rectangles installed vertically. If you hit the junk yards you may be able to find some. I do not know of a source for anything similar. Sorry

The original bench seat on my 1970 F250 was ok, but the ulpholstry on the driver's side was pretty torn up. After looking at different options, I went with a hand-made cover from a comapny called seatcovers.net. There you can select vehicle make, model, year, style of seat, materials, and colors.

The price wasn't too bad, and I purchased the one with the 'full custom' option. Not only was it easy to install and looked great, but it was high quality as well. Just another option to consider for covering your seat.

Did your original seat have the buttons? Only pic I can find shows no buttons on 70's bench seat, Thanks for the info will check it out
