My shortbed came with a 240/3sp, put a cleveland and a mustang toploader in it and the stock driveshaft was the correct length, it also had a 28 spline yoke which your toploader should have. My crossmember bolted into the original frame holes, hope this helps.

Dan this my toploader for comparison

My Rough measurement is 16 1/2" to center of bearing...don't know what size tailshaft you've got,but I think it's safe to say you'll be cutting a new one.
Might be wrong...I'm no expert......might be just as easy to do as opposed to searching for one to fit

Did they use a carrier bearing with a T-18 tranny in a shortbed?

i figured it might be easier to just have it cut to fit. thanks for the picture reference and the info.

67mann...what tailshaft are you using? where is your shifter location?

My toploader is out of 69 390GT mustang and the tailshaft is original according to Davidkee site. Which worked out just ahead of the saddle tank...so the mid mount tailshaft was what I needed. Here's where it ended up in the cab

It's an Indy shifter that has since been cut, modified and lengthened to accomidate my buckets
