hello I am putting a efi 302/Aod in my 68 the problem I have is the AOD came out of a 87 or 88 Lincoln and I dont have a yoke I have been reading there is a difference in the lengths what length should I look for

I think you may be thinking of the tailshaft and housing, which there were different lengths of. As for the yoke, I just got mine from summit, its made by ford racing. works great.
1968 F100 Took the running 390 out, and installed a Built 300 with AOD.

I am talking about the yoke if you look them up on the mustang boards the guys say theirs are 5 inches from center of u joint to end of input shaft crown vics say 6 inches and then I read SOME Lincolns are 7.75 inches so i called a local shop and he said not all AOD were created equal is how he put it different years and models had different sizes but he didnt know what size mine was so I thought maybe someone on here would know if I am supposed to have a 7.75 inch would a 6 inch work or would it cause problems

I think that if you were to get at least 4 " into the splines, that should do .....Give your self some room for clearance between the output shaft & the yoke so as it does not bottom out...just my :2cents: Donnie

Be very careful about the diameter of the yokes also. There are 2 different diameters and maybe even three. I know for a fact there are two.
