That is what my driveshaft looks like, but according to this page: http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... shafts.jpg I have a manual driveshaft. The diagram does not show Ubolts for the mounting of the yoke to tranny. Also earlier I mentioned that since I'm using Ubolts to mount the tranny and d/s together that the U joint does not fill the space completely making me think I have the wrong driveshaft. The transmission I have is a C6, if that helps.

You have the correct driveshaft for an automatic, it's a one piece. Two piece had a carrier bearing midway between the two propeller shafts.
The reason that the u-joint does not fil the space is because you have the wrong u-joint. Should be a 1-0134 which is a 1330 to 1310 combination u joint.

Found it at the U joint store. Thanks, now to find a place to shorten the drive shaft.

So this morning I took some measurments with and without the driveshaft on my truck. What I did was measure the bottom of from to floor. I put 200'lbs of weight on the back of the frame and let it go down not even a 1/2 an inch. The results were the same with and without the driveshaft. With this I believe that I do not need to take more than 1 inch out of the driveshaft. I won't be using the truck to haul anything so I'm not worried about weight issues and bottoming out.
