vent window broke/window adhesive

Post by hedz »

i need to buy something to glue in my vent window on the passenger side. it fell out. and it has a loose fit. i don't need to do anything that looks nice. i don't want to apply a adhesive that i could never remove the window later without breaking it. i need a reccomendation for a product, preferrably something i could buy at advanced, autozone, oreillys, home depot something like that. any reccomendations?

Go to a glass shop. There is a piece of rubber that holds the window in and is what you need.

Talk to an old-timer - the kids won't have a clue...

i don't think the rubber is worth it or paying someone. i'm just going to try and pull the vent window out of my original door and swap it.

when i gutted my original spare door i realized what was involved to install one of these. for a truck that's rusted through and through, i decided to hell with this looking nice or burning a hole in my pocket. it certainly won't improve the performance or aesthetic quality, except for maybe being the nicest part on the whole truck if i was to cough up the money. so i siliconed(free silicone!) it back in after swapping a few parts. simplest thing i've had to do on the bump since i picked her up 8). that window will get some love when i come up with 30K to rebuild the whole booger

I prefer the felt over the rubber brand, any glass shop should sell it to you for cheap. It's my profession, for about 4 bucks you would get enough felt to do both vent windows.
