Is there a 5 speed manual transmission that will bolt up to a 360? I looked in the tech, but it talked about 3 and 4 speeds. It is also under construction still. Sorry for the dumb question .

This is for the truck below.
68 F-250 CS, 360 or 390?, still haven't measured the stroke, AUTO running on propane!
$2800! Damn! OK, so, are the only factory options a 4 speed? I was reading what's on here and see that my factory choices are the NP-435, T-18 or the T-19. I see that the NP-435 does have lower gearing. Is this a practical choice for today's road speeds? I understand that the gears I have in my diff play a big part in this. I want to use my truck to haul my rock crawler to the trails and go to the dump. Other than that, it would mostly be used as a DD. Any input is appreciated.

The NP 435 is indeed pretty low geared. Mine annoys the crap out of me in stop and go traffic sometimes. Out on the open road once you get into high gear it will let my one ton run 70 mph fairly comfortably. Meaning that with the 4:11 gears in the Dana 70 rear it doesnt really sound like the engine is coming up through the hood but you can tell its spinning pretty darn fast. The real advantage is its ability to get a very heavy load moving easily and keep it moving without much strain. Its definately gonna cost you some extra fuel to run one.
