Starting to put my truck together and was going to install the clutch hole plug I purchased from DC. (The truck was originally a 3sp on the column) and I have changed it to an auto. Well, when I went to install it, it just wouldn't go. This is the part I ordered http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll ... Z50000024D
I know its for a 73-79 but figured it might work. Anyone know where to buy the right one? or will I be looking in a junkyard?
Thanks, Cole
p.s I checked the pn on the package and the pn on the plug and they were different? could this have something to do with it?

Re: Clutch hole plug?
Is that the hole under and left of the accelerator pedal, where the clutch rod used to go straight down?
If so, the factory used a sqared piece of sheetmetal, countoured a bit for a cover. It's usually got a lot of, uh, goop sealing it up, held down with 2 sheet metal screws.
First photo is an original cover on my '71. There is one under there somewhere...
Second photo from my '72, I just couldn't leave well enough alone, recontoured it, glued it in with caulk, used additional and flatter fasteners.

Re: Clutch hole plug?
That's it! After a little help with another pair of hands today we got the plug in, but now have two screw holes to sort out. Thanks again for the pics!
