When I get that far putting my truck back together I was thinking under the seats maybe? I have also seen an after market speaker that mounts in the stock location under the dash. I believe I saw it in one of my books, maybe LMC, NPD, or maybe Mac's can't remember.

If you have a column shift or 3 on the tree you can make a console. Which is what I did for my truck, wish I had pictures but don't. It worked out fabulously.

There's a headliner available that provides speaker locations. I think it's LMC, but I'm not positive. It is a little pricey, though, and it definitely does NOT look stock (but it's not meant to look stock), but it is an option.

In my truck, a previous owner cut some holes in the kick panels. Not my idea of a perfect solution :loco: , but it's done, so I'll be putting new speakers down by my feet when I get around to the interior.

The speakers they put in them are junk, you can however replace the speakers and it will be damn nice.

I have been looking for a solution to install speakers in the kick panels as well.. I dont wanna tear up the door panels...

I put the cheap Walmart speaker box in the console area as well being I have a 3OTT. I would really like to put some nicer sounding speakers in the kick panels. I Googled it and a Chevy guy on the forums is engineering some for their trucks..

I think maybe its time for someone to do the same for our trucks?

You could install 4X6 speakers in the doors and use the Mustang "Stereo" faceplate. Looks factory when finished.

I don't know about all F250's but my headliner was basically glorified cardboard. It was a horrendously stained white so I spray painted mine maroon. Irrelavent but before I put the headliner back in I put plywood in the two the ceailing indents and since then I just bolted, speakers in boxes, as well as two amps to the ceiling. The headliner seemed like the best part if any to butcher considering it was cardboard. However I bought mine with a missing stereo and aftermarket speakers in the doors, so I have now have a 4.2 channel stereo in mine. The sub is a from a twin box cut in half, and I bolted it right to the floor in the center.

These all seem like good ldeas, thanks. I just replaced my headliner a few weeks ago, but that is an interesting concept. Putting the speakers in the doors like some trucks came with is a possibly also. Again thanks for the ideas and im sure others will use these ideas as well. Kevin

Do you have a gas tank in the cabin or under the bed?

I made some (ahem) "custom" boxes out of plywood for mine. Kinda triangle shaped with a dog leg to the rear. Tucked them under the front of the bench seat on both sides. Then made two more to fit on the outside of the seats, pointing toward the doors, on that sloped part of the floor. Put 6x9's in all 4. Ugly, but functional.
