My C-6 is dripping fluid from around the shaft where the shifter linkage connects.
The wife is not too happy with tranny fluid on the garage floor, so it's time to try to fix the leak.
Is this an easy fix from the side or bottom?

Re: Trans fluid leak question
Disconnect the trans linkage from the trans levers. Pull the pan and remove the valve body. Remove the 1/2" nut that holds on the kickdown lever, then remove the 7/8" that holds the inside linkage to the shift selector shaft and pull out the selector shaft. Next take a flat blade screwdriver and carefully pop out the seal from the case. Clean the seal bore and install the new seal using a socket and small hammer. There's an o-ring in the outer side small bore of the selector shaft for the kickdown lever shaft that should be replaced, too.
Reverse procedure and torque the valve body bolts to 100 in. lbs.
4 quarts should handle the refill.
