1968 390 long block with parts, cheap!
I am tired of looking at this 390 that I paid $350 for at a wrecking yard. Obviously I paid too much for it, but I wanted to upgrade from a 360 to a 390. Instead I upgraded to a 460, so this thing is just in my way. I will let it go to a member of Fordification.com for $100 if you come pick it up soon. It is completely rebuildable with good: heads, block, pan, and an "S" intake manifold. The reason the Torino wagon was in the wrecking yard was because the timing chain and sprockets came apart. I considered this a good sign when I took it apart to inspect it. If no one on here wants it I will give it one more go on Craigslist for $150 and then it is off to the scrap yard.
Again, for a Fordification.com member it is $100, sorry no shipping of crankshaft and rods. But delivery to Sonoma county is possible if the engine is paid for before I haul it down there.

$.50 a mile (each way), plus expenses should cover it!

I would be glad to buy it for that price.
I live in SoCal. I just need help getting it into the bed of the truck.
My own 390 is losing oil pressure, and I figure it's on the way out.

Ranger 72 it is yours. It is sitting on an engine stand in my shop and I have a cherry picker, so not problem with dropping it in your truck. You do realize I live about an hour west of Williams off of Interstate 5? Zip code is 95453, when do you want to come get it? Need any radiators while you are here? I'll PM you any other details such as phone numbers and my address when you need them.

How fortuitous!
Yes, actually I could use a radiator too. My truck has the big radiator that came on the camper special.
Will talk to the missus to see if she wants to join me for the trek. She might enjoy a little road trip.
You seem to be in a hurry to see it gone, so I don't want to make you wait. So this weekend, or maybe next? (Next weekend would be easier on me.)

Next week end would be fine. Give yourself plenty of time to make the 1,000 mile round trip. BTW, the radiators would be $50 each, or two for $75. One is original brass and copper and the other is replacement aluminum.

Sorry to butt in, but would any of these radiators (either of the two that Kurt has, or the one currently in Ranger72's truck) work in a '67 F250 Camper Special with a 352? If so, maybe Ranger72 and I could get together after the trip some time (I'm a lot closer to Canoga Park than I am to Lakeport).
Thanks,
Joseph

How about four, almost new, 265/75/16 Master Craft tires? Not load range E, I think they are C range, but the price is right. I replaced them with Michelins thinking they were causing my tire bounce problem, they were not the culprit. the Michelins aren't as smooth as these tires. $300. Come on guys, I need $$$ for a compressor!

Thank God those won't fit my truck!
My wife had a calf when I told her we needed to drive up there for the engine.
Coinago: I will take a look. If I pick up both I will let you know.

For the record, God gave us wives to keep us in line! If it weren't for wimmen, we'd all have about a dozen "classics" rusting away in that useless space we call a "front lawn"! Which reminds me, I have to rake the leaves tomorrow afternoon. Yuk!
By the way, that's a killer price for a 390. I just spent 200 bucks for a 352 block that needs to be rebuilt (I probably could have gone bigger, but I wanted to stick with the size that originally came in the truck).

Well, Ranger72, are you coming to get the 390 this weekend? If you are, please send a PM and then we can arrange the details. If you are not going to make the trip please let me know so I can post it on Craigslist.

Ranger72 and his wife arrived this morning to pickup the engine and a radiator, so they are SOLD. He got a really good deal (and a nice drive around part of the largest natural lake in California) and I got a chunk of my shop floor space back to use! He's happy and I'm happy.
