1972 F-250 NON A/C Heater box

Post by PhyrPh0enix »

Hi guys. I'm taking the A/C out of my '72. So, I'm looking for the box and controls from a truck without air conditioning. Thank you! Please let me know pricing and shipping to 20190.

Thank again.

Vince

I'm keeping the A/C and when I get around to fixing up the truck, I'm gonna put the A/C back in. But right now I'm gonna be using it in MA and it gets COLD... so I'm gonna need the heat immediately!

I have 2 of them and they both worked when I took them out of my trucks. I was going to rebuild one and put it in my Crew Cab after paint, but have decided to replace the entire system with the Classic Auto Air system, so now I dont need these. I can send the whole system to you, but it will not be cheap as it is big and heavy. You might be better off finding a local junk yard to pull one from. But if not, I am more than happy to sell you one. Again, it is just going to be a pain to ship.

Hey Rich and Vince, don't forget about Greyhound shipping! I used them years ago to get a set of six 16" non-split rims across the country for about $60.

:yt: You may want to check with the above poster then and he can get you a shipping price as I would still need to find a box that it would fit in, package it up, and then take it to get it priced. If he already has a working unit all boxed up, he has a leg up on me.

On a side note, you would need to buy a new heater core and probably a new rubber boot for the box I have. The blower and the vent controls all worked on mine, but the heater core was bypassed and I am sure it needs replacing. The rubber boot is just old and if it is not already torn (I think it is), it will soon. 40+ year old rubber is not very durable. Let me know if the one above is not going to work for you, and then I will get this one boxed up and priced. I just hesitate to do all that work if you are not even sure you want it as I know there are other options and you are looking at the Bronco units as well.
