Parts score for my '67

Post by chad67 »

Went to a junkyard near my house today to rummage and found some parts I wanted/needed for my truck. I got 2 set of door panels, 4 window cranks, 3 inside door handles, 1 complete F600 guage cluster, 1 painted F600 gauge bezel, and a radio delete. Asked the owner to name a price, and couldn't pay him fast enough when he said "$25 and you take 'em off." WHOOO HOOO!

Here's a pic. The door panels don't even have a ding, and the handles are all in usable shape. The gauges will need some work, but still a score!

NICE!

I tell you what. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find those door panels down here. In every old bump I've prowled thru over the years that had them they were either missing, beat to crap, rotted out at the bottom from the window being down for 20+ years.

I was having a harder time finding some without speaker holes cut in them! Mine were cut and 2 in the yard were cut. One of the ones I got here have some rust on the lower inside that will just need to be sanded and primed, but the paint on the blue pair looks almost new on the inside. I'm going to price some more parts to see what parts I can find that are better than what I have now.

Went back today and got a complete air cleaner housing and lid, a tail light lens, front turn signal lens, a knob for my wiper switch and-get this!-an Edelbrock Performer 351w intake. Total bill-$35! I'm gonna try to trade the intake for a Victor Jr. for a 351w. I also found a good driver's door that he priced me for $50. I guess I have a reason to go back!
