Complete Set of Steel Wheels & Tires

Post by TexasTruck72 »

I have a complete set of 4 original steel 15" Ford truck rims (5x5.5 lug) that came on a 1972 F-100. They're painted a crème/off-white color and the backside is the original gray primer finish with very minor spots of surface rust. Currently mounted & balanced on them are some great 215/75/15 Michelin XC LT4 tires I bought new at Sears a few years ago. The tires only have 10,000 miles on them with 90-95% tread remaining. Almost new tires. I am selling these wheels and tires because I bought another set of steel wheels and mounted some 31" BF Goodrich All Terrains on them(which are currently on my 72 F-100).

The 215/75/15 tire size is extremely close to the original (bias ply) tire size that came on F-100s new in the late 1960s and early 1970s. They look really sharp and stock on our old trucks. I just began using my F-100 on more off road applications and wanted something larger with more lugs. These tires have plenty of life left on them and I was going hold onto them in case I picked up another old F-100 that needed some good wheels/tires but looks like that ain't happening for a while. I need some money because I'm in between jobs right now and would like to see someone get some use out of these NICE tires and original stock wheels. These would also look great on any other F-100 body style(pre-bumpside). I had some old dog dish hubcaps on them when they were on my truck. Look good with any old Ford hubcaps. Also, I originally bought this particular tire because it was the most period correct looking radial tire available today without having to buy something through Coker Tire which would cost a fortune. The Michelin font on these tires looks a lot more 'old school' than the new Michelin truck tires.

I am asking $400 for all four wheels and tires. May be open to offers, but these tires are almost new and have very little wear on them. Plus the rims are in very decent condition and are getting harder to find due to the fact people are putting these on rat rods, etc. Local pickup only unless you are within 30 minutes of Athens, Ga.

Thanks,

Jack

Hubcaps not included.

More pictures to come soon. The tires have been carefully stored on their sides so no flat spots would occur. Ready to put on your truck and enjoy!

As they looked on my F-100. Nice, clean set of tires and stock steel wheels. The crème white color of the rims would go well with just about any paint scheme of our old trucks. You can dress them up with polished or chrome dog dish hubcaps or cover them completely with the Explorer hubcaps.

Also, these tires ride very quiet and comfortably. Really good quality rubber and tread pattern. No burnouts or abuse happened while these were on my truck.
